Amherst House is a lovely 2-3 bedroom cottage (sleeping 4-7), set within the Grade II listed stable courtyard amid the 1000-acres of woodland, parkland and farm grounds at the beautiful Stowlangtoft Estate in Suffolk.
The cottage interior is smart and contemporary. Guests enter from the courtyard, or directly through the patio doors that open onto views of woodland. The generous ground floor living space comprises a useful lobby area, with plenty of room for coats and shoes, a huge and airy kitchen/diner, with further patio doors opening onto the Juliette balcony, a comfortable living room with all new furnishings, and a brand new shower room with over-sized shower and sensor lighting. Upstairs the space has been cleverly used. The two bedrooms (one twin room and one double bedroom) have ample storage and quirky triangular windows. There is also a further family bathroom, with bath and over-bath shower. Finally, leading on from the double bedroom is a bonus room, which has a cot as well as a single bed. There are no windows in this room, negating the need for blackout blinds for early risers, but cheery bunting and furnishings make it very attractive to mini guests.
The cottage boasts contemporary luxuries in the form of flat-screen Smart TV, WIFI Internet, dishwasher, combination microwave oven and washing machine with the usual appliances in the fully fitted kitchen. The kitchen Juliette balcony overlooks a semi-walled garden, which is a great space to enjoy evening dinners and drinks.
